Oxidation firing makes iron in clay combine with oxygen and the color turn into red. The potter controls of oxygen let rice husks touch on surface of pot in kiln, then it has beautiful red and black combination.

Artist
Yoshiki is one of skillful artists in Tokoname. What makes his pots unique is Tataki work. It gets the pot to have small dimples and change its texture as if it is made of metal.
He says he is always curious on new things and they give him inspirations. We will find his unconventional ideas reflected on original shape of works in the atelier.
